The Cape Town based artist is a wonderful storyteller on recycling material. The main character in his artwork is a boy called Q-phy, through whose eyes we are allowed to look at the world with the same sense of wonderment and surprise that the youngboy does. We see a world where water, trees and our place in nature are as fascinating as threatening. Q-phy is always accompanied by his shadow, sometimes in conversation with it. The message seemes to be that one’s sub-conscious is likeone’s shadow, always present, and that it is therefore important to address issues because like your shadow, it won’t go away.
